January 2013 Prayer Letter
The Devil Never Lets Up
There is a climate of negativity and hopelessness in the entire province. If folks will allow, God will do a work of hope and faith in their lives.
Example #1: Normand Trudeau - for months he seemed to be growing in the Lord. He has gone into a depression that is ruling his life. Pray for him to take the steps that he needs in order to trust the Lord wholly.
Example #2: Stéphane - He seemed to be back, encouraged in the Lord. Unfortunately, he has taken a step back as he views everything based on his point of view instead of God’s Word by faith.
Example #3: Steve - After clearly hearing the Gospel, he prayed and asked Christ to save him; we haven’t seen him since! He is afraid to see his former girlfriend. Life can be so fragile if Christ is not Lord.
Translation Going Well
Well, we finished one translation and we are working on three others. It is exciting to get more good materials ready for the French world. Pray for precision and clarity of translation as we labour in this important area of ministry.
News about Plessisville
We have distributed door-hanging sacks in Plessisville (except the out-lying areas). Each sack contains a John-Romans booklet, two tracts, a printed note with a few provoking thoughts about eternity, an invitation, and our contact information. Pray for fruit to be born.
The class of Homiletics is going well. Pastor Bégin seems to be doing well according to the weekly quizzes and other indicators. Pray for the efforts of this bible-based course as he learns more about how to teach and preach.
